The Golden Boy
devised by Be Your Own Banana Theatre Company
directed by Brian Desmond
with live music by Giordai Au Laoighre
BYOB return to the Cork stage with the premiere of The Golden Boy, a new play which the company has developed over the past few months. Drawing on tales from Ireland’s ancient past, the play will be performed in BYOB’s unique style, blending story-telling, clowning and physical theatre.
A bare stage, three storytellers and eighty minutes of dynamic traffic, The Golden Boy promises to be a unique theatrical experience for Cork audiences. From the company that brought you The Self-Obsessed Tragedy of Ed Malone (Cork cult classic…, Evening Echo) and De Bogman (Excellent…, Irish Examiner).
In addition to this, BYOB will continue to offer workshop programmes in the Granary, focussing on areas like 'physical characterisation', 'story-telling for stage', 'devised theatre' and 'clowning'.
